...The wolf kind then spread from the tree and their seed traveled to far and distant lands. Families arose as well as packs and tribes, trust was as plentiful as game and water, and the joy that the Earth felt about her new gentle masters could be seen through the colors in the vegetation that she produced. The tree remained at the heart of it all, standing tall and strong and harboring a sanctuary to all those who sought it - but as wolves traveled further and further away their minds began to wean and the stories and laws of the tree began to wither and fall from their lips. The younger generations were never told the story of their creation and how they came to be the masters of the Earth, and before long none of the Original Wolves bothered to recall the rules set in place over the land and the fruit which the tree bore...

...there were two who sought to travel to the place of origin - back to the great tree from which their race had been birthed. When they found it they were amazed by it for it surpassed all the descriptions that their elders had told them, but neither of these two wolves knew of the fruit which the tree bore. When they saw the fruit they inquired one another about it and seeing as the other did not know of it they ate of the fruit...

"And thus was the fall of the wolf...

"A curse, the curse, a single curse cut us down, made us fall, ruined our lands and killed our once-glorified race and transformed us into what we are today: Nothing. Nothing but a shell.

"I am here to tell you how things were before the fall of Wolf, how things were supposed to go afterward, and how they've really gone so far. My words are the words of a creature in his final hours, a creature trying his best to educate the generations now spreading into the land in a desperate hope that they might fix the sins of their father. I am but one of those children, a Child of the Fallen wolves, my parents were the two wolves that ate of the fruit, and because I was born after the fact I was cursed and I never tasted immortality like the PERFECTS or THE TAINTED ONES. I have lived a short life of four thousand six-hundred years, and with every generation I see spread from my seed their days grow shorter and shorter. As my own days come to an end I prepare to taste death, a flavor my parents never savored, and I leave behind a hopeful legacy.

"The Tree was the center of life for endless ages - so many years had passed since the Original Wolves, now called PERFECTS, were created that they stopped trying to count them. Time went quickly, but life was slow and full of comfort. In those days, I hear, prey would actually come tothe wolves instead of the wolves having to hunt them down, and our kind could actually ingest the fruits and vegetations of the Earth for then the Earth loved us and did not try to harm us.

"As time went on and the PERFECTS spread farther and wider with fewer in-between them packs of their offspring began to arise and packs of their offspring's offspring arose. These, too, are nowadays called PERFECTS, but they do not belong to the title of the Original Wolves. These wolves learned about their origins and the tree but only vaguely, and few possessed the understanding that the fruit which the tree bore was poisonous and contained a curse that would haunt our kind to our death if we consumed of it.

"One day two wolves departed on a journey to find the tree to rediscover their race's beginnings and learn purely out of curiosity what the tree was. These wolves were my parents, and ancestors of yours. They did not know what the fruit held, and when they found the tree they partook in consuming it. Immediately the curse spread, and instantly it covered the face of the planet. Earth knew what had been done and she became fearful of what was to come - all of the wolves strewn across her plains and wilderness felt an awkward rift in their existences, I have heard it described as running as hard as you can into a stone wall, and the Original Wolves knew immediately what had occurred.

"The word spread about the curse and about who's fault it was. Rumors foretold that the Earth was now beginning to die, and some beat the ground in fury and anger when they learned this, unintentionally harming the Earth, themselves. Earth became angry with us and from then on began to harm us with fires and deserts and plants that would harm us - the animals felt her wrath and began to flee from us instead of come near, and hunting became a necessity. It was never our nature to hunt... but some took to it surprisingly quickly.

"My parents became "The Fallen Ones," the title bestowed upon them so that they might live in shame even though they did not mean to do what they had. Before long THE TAINTED began to show up. They were PERFECTS that succumbed to rage and anger fueled by the thrill of hunting down animals that sought to take revenge on my parents for what they had done. At first it was small - THE TAINTED could have been anyone from the wolf that spit on the ground wherever my parents and I traveled to the one that simply gave us a dirty glare, but eventually it grew and festered and they began to grow abusive and brutal. My children had to deal with the first murders of the wolven kind, and their grandchildren saw THE TAINTED transform into the monsters that they are truly known as today.

"The PERFECTS that remained, few as they were, realized what was happening to their kind and realized that maintaining purity was now a challenge whereas before it was merely existence. Keeping their minds and deeds away from what some deemed as 'evil' was challenging, and many fell and became Tainted themselves. Few PERFECTS survive to this day, and I am sorry to say that they will all meet their deaths eventually.

"The Original Wolves of the Perfects disappeared... Some say that they became elements of the sky and the Earth around us. Stories range from fables that they used the last bits of their energy to escape the curse, while others say that Earth took her original children back to save them. Either way - not even the PERFECTS truly know what happened to them all.

"THE TAINTED began to ravage the land and help the curse spread. Their idea was that the faster they spread the curse the faster they could kill off the Fallen and get their revenge. War and pestilence is their fight, and they will not let up until every Fallen wolf is dead. They want their former glory, they want their invincibility, and they want their unlimited powers back... once they desired those things for noble causes, but as their minds fade into chaos it becomes a desire full of greed and lust.

"And then there are those like me, THE FALLEN. We are sons and daughters of Perfects and Tainteds alike, and it is not our fault for what has happened to the world but we are blamed for it and the Earth along with THE TAINTED take their revenge out on us. Some turn their backs on the world and go out of their way to make the most of life despite the cost to anyone else, which is savage and feral if you asked me, and then others believe that there is a way of fixing and reversing this curse through combined unification.

"Whether you are part of THE TAINTED, seeking revenge and reeking havoc wherever you go, a PERFECT who tries with all their might to remain strong and sturdy in their old ways but know that falling is inevitable, or A FALLEN one who doesn't understand the hatred towards them, you are now part of this curse. What you do with the curse and against the curse is your choice - your paths are not all defined, and there are several trails to take. Despite how you travel, though, you cannot escape the curse of death.

"So, then, how can one choose how they will die?"
